photokina 2012 - The world hasn’t seen this yet
„The World’s Biggest Photoglobe“ - An ocean of images
Join in the action - Make your photos part of an ocean of images

„The World’s Biggest Photoglobe“ with an impressive diameter of six meters was one of the eye-catchers at photokina 2010 in passage 4/5 of the trade fairgrounds in Cologne. At photokina 2012 from 18 to 23 September we want to outdo this highlight attraction – and we need your help to achieve this goal. Here is the plan: We will give a wider space to your digital images from the bilingual (German/English) portal http://photoglobus.prophoto-online.de/en/ and reshape them into an ocean of images as it has never been seen before, with the “World’s Biggest Photoglobe” hovering over it in passage 4/5. To make this happen, upload more of your best shots on our portal.

This year’s photokina community initiative “The World’s Biggest Photoglobe” gives you the once-in-a-lifetime chance to present your photo creativity to some 180,000 expected photokina visitors from all regions worldwide. In ordinary circumstances, only a small number of photographers can showcase their pictures at photokina – but now our photokina community initiative “The World’s Biggest Photoglobe” provides you with an opportunity to join in the action at the world’s leading imaging fair.

“The World’s Biggest Photoglobe” and the ocean of images together visualize, emotionally and lastingly, the guiding theme of photokina as the world of imaging. The action zone in passage 4/5 at photokina 2012 also stands for the creativity and innovation of all photo enthusiasts, reflecting the manifold possibilities opened up by the photo and imaging industry.

This unique community initiative is enabled by the commitment of the Photoindustrie-Verband members Canon, CeWe Color, DayMen, Fujifilm, Hama, Nik Software, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung, Sigma, Sihl and Tamron and by Prophoto GmbH and photokina.
